The computer displays various error messages related to the battery after upgrading to the Windows 8 operating system.
If any of the following error messages are displayed on the computer after upgrading to the Windows® 8 operating system, it is likely the Battery Checker update was not installed.
- Battery is not connected
- Battery is not compatible
- Battery is not detected
To resolve this and any other possible issues, download and install the Battery Checker Utility update and other Windows 8 operating system drivers and software updates. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
IMPORTANT: When upgrading your computer to the Windows 8 operating system, we highly recommend that you click to view either the Upgrade instructions or Clean Install instructions (or both) for a compete and detailed explanation of the upgrade process, how to prepare your computer and how to obtain the necessary drivers and software updates after the upgrade is complete.
