How to disable the touchpad.

Follow this procedure to disable the touchpad.

1. Click the Start button, point to Settings , and click Control Panel .
2. In the Control Panel window, double-click the System icon.
3. On the System Properties window, click the Device Manager tab.
4. On the Device Manager tab, double-click Mouse .
5. Under Mouse , double-click the installed Alps GlidePoint or Touchpad .
6. In the Touchpad Properties window, click to check the Disable in this hardware profile box.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Click the Close button.
