Icons or indicators that normally show in the LCD or viewfinder are not being displayed.

Depending on the mode of the camera, different icons and indicators may or may not appear. If any of the icons or indicators that normally show in the LCD or viewfinder of the camera are not being displayed, then it is possible that the camera has been set to a different mode. For example, the camera may be set to the movie mode instead of still image. If this does not appear to be the case, try using different media or reset the camera back to factory specifications.
