What products can play a DVD recorded in the AVCHD format?
A DVD recorded in the AVCHD format can be played on the following types of products:
- Personal computers using compatible AVCHD software
- Blu-ray Disc® players incorporated with AVCHD technology
- PlayStation®3 (PS3™) consoles
WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. DVD media containing AVCHD footage should not be used with standard DVD players or recorders, as the DVD player/recorder may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning. DVD media containing AVCHD footage should be played on a compatible Blu-ray disc player/recorder or other compatible device.
IMPORTANT: If an unfinalized AVCHD formatted disc is inserted into a computer that has packet writing software installed, further recording of the disc is not possible and the disc can no longer be finalized in the camera. Always finalize your DVD media in the camcorder before inserting the DVD into your computer. If you need to transfer recorded data to your computer before the disc is finalized, please do so by connecting the camera to your computer using the USB cable.
NOTE: The PS3 system software must be version 1.60 or higher to playback AVCHD formatted discs. Check the instruction manual of your PS3 console for information about checking the system software version or visit the PS3 support website.
