Delete temporary files from the computer hard drive
Watch the video tutorial or follow the steps below to delete temporary files from the computer.
Some programs, through normal operation, create temporary versions of files that then get left behind instead of being deleted. This can happen if the program closes unexpectedly, or if the program wasn't designed to delete the temporary files after it's done with them. Temporary files that are left behind can accumulate over time and consume a lot of disk space.
To delete temporary files, run the Disk Cleanup utility.
You can also manually delete temporary files that are not removed by using the Disk Cleanup utility.
