Putting the computer into Tablet Mode allows the operating system to go full screen, full time, removing windowed apps and turning the Start Menu into the Start screen. This makes the operating system easier and more intuitive to use with tablet and touch devices, or if you just prefer not to use the keyboard and mouse.
Follow these steps to enable Tablet Mode.
- Click the Start button, and in the Start Menu, click Settings.
- In the Settings window, click System.
- In the System screen, on the left side of the screen, click Tablet Mode.
- On the right side of the screen, under Make Windows more touch-friendly when using your device as a tablet, click to move the slider to On.
Tablet Mode is now enable, and the taskbar and desktop icons are now hidden.
NOTE: Disable Tablet Mode if you wish to return the computer to normal mode and once again have the taskbar and desktop icons displayed.
