The on-screen keyboard doesn't appear when I press the Enter button on my TV remote

The keyboard won't appear on your TV with Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow even if you press the Enter button several times or the error Use the keyboard on the mobile device appears if Virtual Remote Keyboard is set as the main keyboard setting. To resolve this issue, change the Current Keyboard setting to Leanback Keyboard:
- On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Under the System Preferences category, select Keyboard.
- Select Current Keyboard.
- Select Leanback Keyboard.
