A USB storage drive that was used on my Android TV isn't recognized on other devices
A USB storage device that is registered to Android TV™ models can only be used with those TVs. If you would like to use the USB storage device with another product follow these instructions:
WARNING! There's a risk of data loss. Formatting the USB storage drive or HDD will permanently delete all data stored on it.
- Connect the USB storage drive or HDD to your TV.
- Create a back up for the apps stored in the USB storage drive or HDD.
- On the supplied TV remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Under the TV category, select Storage & reset.
- Under Device storage, select the connected USB storage drive or USB HDD.
- Select Erase & format as removable storage.
- Select Back up apps.
- Select the app to back up.
- Select Internal storage or Internal shared storage.
- Format the USB storage drive or USB HDD.
- Press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Under the TV category, select Storage & reset.
- Under Device storage, select the connected USB storage drive or USB HDD.
- Select Erase & format as removable storage.
- Select Format.
Note: This formats your USB storage drive or HDD in FAT32 file system. If you will store videos larger than 4GB, use your computer to format your USB storage drive or HDD in NTFS or exFAT file system.
