The Accessibility Shortcut function provides an easier and faster way to switch your favorite accessibility feature.
Notes:
- When the TalkBack, Screen reader, and Text magnification functions are set to ON using the Accessibility shortcut, some edit options, including Move and Hide in Inputs, might not work.
- When the TalkBack, Screen reader, and Text magnification functions are set to ON using the Accessibility shortcut, some of the Quick Settings edit options might not work.
Activating the Accessibility shortcut function
- The default setting of the Accessibility shortcut function is set to a screen reading function, such as Screen reader (recommended) or TalkBack.
- This function isn't available during the initial setup of your TV.
- Depending on the model, when you use the function for the first time, a dialog box will appear to confirm the use of the Accessibility shortcut function.
- For models released in 2020: The TV will read the title of the dialog Use Accessibility shortcut? Then, the TV will read the focused button TURN OFF SHORTCUT. Press the Right arrow button so that the TV will read TURN ON SHORTCUT. By pressing the Enter button, the Screen reader function is assigned to the shortcut function.
- For models released before 2020: A dialog box will appear to confirm the Accessibility shortcut function. However, this dialog box can't be recognized by the Screen reader. In this case, you will need assistance from someone who can select the USE SHORTCUT option.
- Activating the Screen reader on TVs with the eARC function will deactivate the eARC mode.
Changing the assigned Accessibility shortcut function
- Press the HOME button.
- Select Settings and press the Enter button.
- For TVs with Android 9 Pie operating system, press the Down arrow button to select Device Preferences, then press the Enter button.
- Press the Down arrow button to select Accessibility, and press the Enter button.
- Press the Down arrow button to select Accessibility shortcut, and press the Enter button.
- Press the Down arrow button to select Shortcut service, and press the Enter button.
- Select your preferred shortcut and press the Enter button.
- Select OK and press the Enter button.
Turning ON/OFF the Accessibility shortcut function
Instead of starting from the setting menu, you can turn the desired shortcut on or off by pressing and holding the MUTING or MUTE button on the TV remote control until you hear a response sound (more than five seconds).
To switch the desired shortcut off and on again, press and hold the MUTING or MUTE button until you hear a response sound (more than five seconds).
