How to activate the Call Waiting function? ( Android 9 or higher )

    Valid for

    • Android™ 9 or higher

    Notes:

    • The Call-waiting feature is a network-dependent service. You need to have an active SIM card inserted into the phone; otherwise, you may not be able to access the additional call settings.
    • If you have activated the Call waiting, you can handle multiple calls simultaneously. When you activate it, you will be notified by a beep if you receive another call. Select to either accept the incoming call or decline it. The person calling you will hear the dial tone, and if you reject the call, they will either hear the busy tone or be directed to your voicemail service if supported and activated.

    Activate the Call waiting from your Xperia® device (Single SIM)

    Android 10 or 11

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Settings.
    3. Tap Calls → Call Waiting
    4. Tap the switch beside Call waiting to enable the function.

    Android 9.0

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Settings.
    3. Tap Calls → Additional settings.
    4. Tap the switch beside Call waiting to enable the function.

    Activate the Call waiting from your Xperia device (Dual SIM)

    Android 12 or higher

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Settings → Calling accounts.
    3. Find and tap the name of your service provider for the relevant SIM card.
    4. Tap Additional settings.
    5. Tap the switch beside Call waiting.

    Android 10 or 11

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) and Settings → Calls.
    3. Find and tap the name of your service provider for the relevant SIM card.
    4. Tap Call waiting.
    5. Tap the switch beside Call waiting.

    Android 9.0

    1. Find and tap Phone.
    2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Settings → Calling accounts.
    3. Find and tap the name of your service provider for the relevant SIM card.
    4. Tap Additional settings.
    5. Tap the switch beside Call waiting.

    Answer a second call and place the ongoing call on hold

    • Drag the answer call icon to the right when you hear repeated beeps.

    Reject a second call

    • When you hear repeated beeps during a call, drag the decline call icon to the left.
