    Playing songs on a home network (Music Center for PC Ver.1.0)

    Playing songs by redirecting output to a network-compatible audio device

    1. Connect the computer and the network-compatible audio device to the same home network.

      For details on the connection method, refer to the operating instructions for the device.

    2. Select [Settings] from the [Tools] menu.
    3. Click [Audio output settings] (A) and add a check mark to the check box for [Network device] (B). Then, click [Settings...] (C).

    4. Select the device to which you want to redirect output from the list under [Select network device] (D). Then, click [OK] to close the screen.

      Hint

      • If the device to which you want to redirect output does not appear in the list, make sure that the device is turned on and the network settings are configured properly.
    5. Start playback of a song.

    Playing songs by accessing the library of “Music Center for PC” from a network-compatible audio device (Server function)

    You can play songs in the library of “Music Center for PC” over a network by operating a network-compatible audio device.

    1. Connect the computer and the network-compatible audio device to the same home network.

      For details on the connection method, refer to the operating instructions for the device.

    2. Select [Settings] from the [Tools] menu.
    3. Click [Share media] (A) and add a check mark to the check box for [Share media with local network device] (B).
      Then, input an arbitrary library name in the text box for [Library name:] (C). Click [OK] to close the screen.

      You will need the library name that you input in this step. The library name will be required for identifying the library of “Music Center for PC” when the network-compatible device accesses the library.

      Hint

      • Add a check mark to [Automatically allow Library access for new device]. Access to the library will be allowed automatically when a new device is connected to the network.
      • Add a check mark to [Lower high-resolution audio to CD quality]. Sound interruption or other problems may be improved during playback of High-Resolution Audio content.
    4. Access the library of “Music Center for PC” by operating the network-compatible audio device and start playback of a song.

      Keep “Music Center for PC” open during this time. If you shut down the computer or close “Music Center for PC”, the audio device cannot access the library.
