How to set up a screen saver in Photos mode on your Xperia device

    This article shows you how to set up a screen saver on your Xperia® device using a photo slide show (i.e., Photos mode). In six simple steps, you will learn how to activate the Screen Saver feature, customize the settings, and preview your photo selections.

    Before you start:

    • To set up a screen saver in Photos mode, make sure to have the Google Photos™ app enabled on your Xperia device.
    • The Screen saver is activated when your device is charging and the screen is left idle. Pressing the power button while the device is charging will deactivate this feature.
    • Each user can have individual screen-saver settings if your device has multiple users.
    • Photos can be displayed from albums and the Google Photos app, depending on the device settings.
    • Enabling Only use Wi-Fi for data ensures no mobile data is used while the screen saver is active.

    To activate the Screen saver feature in Photos mode:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Settings → Display.
    2. The following steps will depend on your Android™ version:
      • Tap Screen saver → On or Use screen saver.
        Or
      • Tap Advanced → Screen saver.
    3. Tap When to start While charging, While docked and charging, or While charging or docked.
    4. The following steps will depend on your Android version:
      • Tap Photos.
        Or
      • Tap Current screen saver → Photos.
    5. Depending on your menu options, tap or Customize to configure the settings for your screen saver.
    6. Depending on your Screen saver menu options, follow the next steps to preview your photo slide show:
      • Tap Preview.

      • Tap (menu icon) → Start now.
