This article provides basic information on accessing the internet browser on your TV.
Before you start
- An internet browser is not available for all TV models.
- Your TV must be connected to the internet to use the internet browser.
Choose your TV model type
Note: If you're not sure about your TV type, refer to the article How to check if your BRAVIA TV is a Google TV™, Android TV™, or other TV
The Google TV and Android TV models don't have a pre-installed web browser app. However, you may be able to download and install third-party apps that function as a web browser through the Google Play™ store app on your TV. If you need information on downloading and installing an app, check the article How to download, install, and troubleshoot Google TV and Android TV apps.
Note: We don't guarantee the operation of third-party apps. Third-party apps that have been downloaded and installed from the Google Play™ store are supported by the company or developer who produced them.
This information only applies to LCD TV models with an internet browser. Not all models have an internet browser.
Note: It's recommended that your TV's system software (firmware) is updated to the latest version. For details, refer to the article How to perform a software update.
Accessing the internet browser
- On the supplied TV remote, press the HOME or MENU button.
- Select Apps or Applications.
Note: If Internet Browser (or similar name) is not displayed, select All Apps or All Applications, then select Internet Browser. If the icon for the Internet Browser is not displayed on the All Apps or All Applications screen, see the article App icons such as YouTube are not displayed on the apps screen. - Select Internet Browser.
- Press the Enter/Select
button.
Once you are finished using the browser, press the MENU or HOME button to exit the browser.
Entering a URL address
Follow the instructions below to view a desired website.
- When the address bar is displayed at the top of the browser screen
- Select the Address bar using the arrow buttons on the remote, then press the Enter/Select button.
- In the OPTION menu, select Enter URL.
Note: A text box with a keyboard appears on the TV screen. - Type the URL using the remote control as shown on the TV screen,
- When finished entering the URL address, select Enter.
- When the address bar is not displayed at the top of the browser screen
- On the supplied remote control, press the OPTION button.
- In the OPTION menu, select Enter URL.

- When finished entering the URL address, select Enter.
Clicking or selecting an item on the Web
- Use the arrow buttons on the remote control to move the cursor on the TV screen and select an item.
- When the desired item is selected, press the Enter/Select button.
Adding a Bookmark
Navigate the page or advance between pages while browsing
- Using the supplied remote control, press the Green button to go back to the previous page or the Yellow button to go to the next page.
- Press the Red button for the page down function or the Blue button for the page up.
Refreshing the web page
Follow the instructions below to refresh the web page
- When the Reload Current Page is displayed at the top of the browser screen
Select the Reload Current Page using the arrow button on the remote, then press the Enter/Select button. - When the Reload Current Page is not displayed at the top of the browser screen
- Press the Options button.
- Select Refresh.
- Press the Enter/Select button.
Changing font size
- On the supplied remote control, press the OPTION button.
- In the OPTION menu, select Browser Settings.
- Select Character size.
- Press the up arrow or down arrow to change the character size.
Zooming
- On the supplied remote control, press the OPTION button.
- In the OPTION menu, select Zoom.
Note: If Zoom is not displayed in the OPTION menu, select Browser Settings or Show, then select Zoom. - Select Zoom In or Zoom Out.
