The A/V Receiver or Soundbar Does Not Send the 4K Signal to the TV Using an HDMI Connection

Make sure all of the devices are compatible with High Dynamic Range (HDR) or Enhanced format 4K signal and then check the connection and settings depending on the video signal.

    Before You Start

    • Check if the 4K signal from your source device is Standard, HDR, or Enhanced format.
      • Check your source device manual for model-specific information.
    • Check if your A/V receiver or soundbar supports HDR or Enhanced format 4K pass-through.

    Troubleshoot the Video Signal

The solution differs depending on the video signals and symptom.

    • Enhanced format isn't displayed:
      • Connect a High-Speed HDMI® cable with Ethernet or a Premium High-Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet that supports 18Gbps to the correct input and output ports.
      • Make sure that your TV supports High-Definition or Enhanced format 4K signals and then set the signal to Enhanced Format.
    • HDR picture isn't displayed:

Check that the HDR setting is set to automatic on your HDR output device such as PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro game console.

Note: To enable HDR settings on your game console:

      1. On the home screen go to Settings.
      2. Select Sound and Screen.
      3. Select Video Output Settings.
      4. Set HDR to Automatic.
    • Standard 4K picture isn't displayed:
      • Connect with a High-Speed HDMI® cable with Ethernet or a Premium High-Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet that supports 18Gbps.
      • Make sure that your TV supports High-Definition 4K signals.
      • Make sure that your 4K source and TV settings are set to standard format.

Note: If your model doesn't support HDR or Enhanced format 4K pass-through, connect the HDR or Enhanced format 4K source directly to your 4K TV and use an audio cable to connect your 4K source to the A/V receiver or soundbar.
