A speaker is not producing any audio, or is making a popping, crackling or fuzzy sound.

Follow the steps below if one of the speakers in the home audio system is not producing sound, or is popping, crackling, or producing a fuzzy sound.

    1. Play a different source.
    2. Check the speaker wire for this channel to verify it is connected securely to both the speaker and the receiver.
    3. Check the speaker wire shielding to verify it has not been cut.
    4. If the speaker is not producing sound, verify that the speaker balance is set to the middle setting.
    5. Swap the two speaker connections at the receiver to see if the distortion stays with the same speaker.

NOTE: If the issue stays with the same speaker, change the speaker wire. If the issue still exists, the speaker may need service. If the issue moves to other speaker, the receiver may require service.
