There is no sound when using the 5.1 input while playing DVD discs.

If you are not getting any sound when using the 5.1 input while playing DVD discs, there may be a problem with your connection or there may be an incorrect setting. Follow these steps to try to resolve this issue.

IMPORTANT:If model-specific information is required to complete any of these steps, refer to the instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

NOTE: This solution assumes that the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver is able to produce audio using a different input source (tuner, etc.).

    1. Verify that the correct input is selected on the A/V receiver.
    2. Verify that the A/V cables from the 5.1 output on the DVD player are connected to the 5.1 input on the A/V receiver.
    3. Make sure the volume is set to an acceptable sound level.
