Can I transfer music or pictures into the Media Go Software via Drag and Drop?
You can drag and drop existing supported media files from Windows Explorer or iTunes® into Media Go™ software to add them to your Media Go library, playlist, photo album, or device, or to begin playing the items. If you drag items to your Media Go library, playlist, or photo album, Media Go will create copies of the selected items and add them to the Media Go library folders on your computer. If you drag items directly to the playback controls area or to your device in Media Go, the items are not added to your Media Go library.
If you do not want Media Go to create copies of the original files, you can set up Media Go to monitor specific folders and automatically update your Media Go library whenever new content is added to the folder. The location where the items are dropped determines the action taken by Media Go:
Drop Location |
Result |
Library navigation pane | If files are located in a folder that is not currently being watched, files are copied into the Media Go library folders and items are added to the appropriate category in the Media Go library. |
Playback controls area | Items are played, but are not added to the Media Go library. |
Now Playing pane | Items are added to the Now Playing list in the position they were dropped, but are not added to the Media Go library. |
Existing playlist or photo album | Items are added to the end of the playlist or photo album and to the appropriate category in the Media Go library. |
Playlists or Photo Albums library category | A new, untitled playlist or photo album is created in the Media Go library and the items are added to it. |
Device in the library navigation pane | Items are added to the device, but are not added to the Media Go library. |
Category overview pane (located to the right of the library navigation pane) |
Items are copied into the Media Go library folders and items are added to the appropriate category in the Media Go library. |
NOTE: A list of devices supported for use with the Media Go software is available from the Media Go support website. The Media Go software may also work with other devices not on this list. However, we cannot guarantee operation if they are not on the list.
