My WF-1000XM3 earbud headphones battery life is short even when fully charged
The usage time varies depending on the setting or and how they are used. To conserve battery life, check the following:
- Turn off sound settings such as DSEE HX Auto and Equalizer on the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
- The available battery life decreases when these settings are applied.
The table below shows your headphones battery life in the following settings.
Codec DSEE HX Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode Available battery life AAC AUTO Noise canceling function: ON Max. 3 hours Ambient Sound Mode: ON Max. 3 hours OFF Max. 4 hours AAC OFF Noise canceling function: ON Max. 6 hours Ambient Sound Mode: ON Max. 6 hours OFF Max. 8 hours SBC AUTO Noise canceling function: ON Max. 3 hours Ambient Sound Mode: ON Max. 3 hours OFF Max. 3.5 hours SBC OFF Noise canceling function: ON Max. 5.5 hours Ambient Sound Mode: ON Max. 5.5 hours OFF Max. 7.5 hours - Store the earbuds in the charging case when you aren't wearing them. If you place the earbuds in your pocket, they are still considered in use and the power saving mode won't activate.
Note: After the earbud headphones are updated to software version 3.0.0 or higher, you can use the DSEE HX Auto and Equalizer simultaneously. Please note however, that activating both features increase battery consumption which shortens continuous playback time.
