Will the speaker charge the battery for an Apple iPod portable player?

This model of the Personal Audio Docking Speaker system does have the ability to charge a rechargeable battery for an Apple® iPod® portable player or an Apple iPhone® mobile digital device.

After the speaker has been plugged into a working AC outlet and the appropriate adapter for your portable player has been connected to the docking tray of the speaker, charging will automatically begin once the dock connector  terminal of your iPod player or iPhone device has been set into the docking tray. The charging status will appear in the display of your portable player.

NOTES:

• It is not possible to charge the battery of an iPod player or an iPhone device when using a dry battery.
• This solution also pertains to the RDP-V20iP speaker system.
