Unable to display a picture when connecting a video game console to the sound bar using an HDMI connection.

    IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

    This issue will occur if the video or display output setting on the game console is not supported by the TV:

    Follow these steps if using a PlayStation 4 (PS4™) system:

    1. Turn off the PS4 system by pressing the power button on the front panel. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off.
    2. Once the PS4 system is off, press and hold the power button. Release it after you've heard two beeps: one when you initially press, and another 7 seconds later.
    3. Connect the DualShock®4 wireless controller with the provided USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.
    4. The PS4 system will turn on in Safe Mode. Select Change Resolution.
    5. Turn the PS4 system off and back on.

    The screen resolution will change to 480p when the PS4 system is restarted.

    Follow these steps if using a PlayStation® 3 (PS3™) console:

    1. Turn off the PS3 system.
    2. Press and hold the power button on the PS3 system until you hear two beeps.

    The video output setting will be reset and the player will turn on.

    Follow these steps if using an Xbox One® console:

    1. If there is a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
    2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.
    3. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.

    This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480) so that you can see the video on the screen.

    Follow these steps if using an Xbox 360® console:

    1. Remove any disc that may be inserted in the game system.
    2. Turn off the console.
    3. Turn on the console.

      NOTE: If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.

    4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold the Y button while pulling the right trigger.

    The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

    Follow these steps if using a Wii® U system:

    1. Using the Wii U game pad, press the Menu button.
    2. From the Wii U menu, select System Settings.
    3. Scroll to the TV icon and press the A Button.
    4. Tap TV Connection Type.
    5. Select HDMI.
    6. Choose the appropriate resolution for your TV, or press the X Button to detect the resolution automatically.
    7. Tap OK to confirm.
