HEIF images taken with the camera won't display on a smartphone
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
The High-Efficiency Image File (HEIF) format can be defined as both 8-bit and 10-bit. Some cameras only use the 10-bit HEIF format in order to provide higher-quality images. While the 10-bit HEIF format complies with the standards defined by the ISO, 10-bit images may not be able to be displayed on smartphones or other devices that only support the 8-bit HEIF format.
To playback 10-bit HEIF images taken with these cameras to a smartphone, convert them into JPEG or TIFF image files on a computer using Imaging Edge Desktop software before transfer. Visit the camera downloads page for the Imaging Edge Software download.
