Is it possible to monitor the live view image on a TV while recording?

    Depending on the connections available on both your TV and camcorder, you can use one of the methods below to monitor the live view image from the camcorder on a TV while recording.

    Using an Audio/Video (A/V) cable

    If both your camcorder and TV have A/V jacks follow the steps below.

    1. Connect the yellow end of the A/V cable to an available VIDEO input jack on the TV.
    2. Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V OUT jack on the camcorder.
    3. Turn on the camcorder.
    4. Turn on the TV.
    5. Tune the TV to the VIDEO IN input where the camera is connected in Step 2.

      NOTE: There will be an INPUT or other similarly-named button on the remote control of your TV or the TV itself.
    6. Begin recording with the camcorder.


    Using an HDMI cable

    If both your camcorder and TV have HDMI® jacks follow the steps below.

    1. Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT jack of the camcorder.
    2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN jack of the TV. 
    3. Turn on the camcorder.
    4. Turn on the TV.
    5. Tune the TV to the HDMI IN input where the camcorder is connected in Step 2.

      NOTE: There will be an INPUT or other similarly-named button on the remote control of your TV or the TV itself.

    6. Being recording with the camcorder.

    After following the steps for either method above, the live view image from the camera displays on the TV screen while the camcorder records.
