The camcorder will not play a tape.

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the camcorder will not play a tape.

IMPORTANT: If a warning indicator accompanies the problem, consult the instruction manual of the camcorder for specific information.

1. Ensure the camcorder is set to the VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
2. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the recording.
3. Attempt to play the tape.
4. If the tape still does not play, remove the tape from the cassette compartment.
5. Turn off the camcorder.
6. Disconnect the battery or AC adapter from the camcorder.
7. Allow the camcorder to remain without power for 30 seconds.
8. Reconnect the battery or AC adapter.
9. Reinsert the tape into the cassette compartment.
10. Attempt to play the tape.
11. If the tape still does not playback, attempt to play another tape in the camcorder.

    NOTES:

    • If another tape will playback in the camcorder, then the first tape or recording may be faulty.
    • If the issue is not resolved, service will be required .
