What is the Translucent Mirror Technology?
The Translucent Mirror Technology (TMT) refers to Sony Single Lens Translucent (SLT) cameras that have a stationary translucent mirror inside the camera body. Without moving, the translucent mirror directs light to both the image sensor and Phase Detection auto focus sensor of the camera simultaneously. Since the mirror does not move, it allows the camera to maintain constant focus on your subject and enable continuous high-speed shooting as well as video recording.
NOTE: Instead of an optical viewfinder, SLT cameras use an electronic viewfinder.
