Are DVDirect® recorders compatible with the MPEG-4 (MP4) video file format?
DVDirect recorders are not capable of recording MP4 video files.
However, select DVDirect models like the VRD-MC3 and VRD-VC30 can be connected to a computer and are provided with Nero® software that can convert MP4 video to a usable format (after a paid software upgrade). Once the MP4 video is converted to a usable format the video can then be burned to a disc using the connected DVDirect recorder.
IMPORTANT: The option of converting MP4 video to a usable format is only possible for models that come supplied with the Nero software (after a paid software update) and can connect directly to a computer. DVDirect recorders without a direct computer connection cannot burn the converted video.
