The battery power drains even when the camera is turned off.

IMPORTANT:

• The firmware update can only be applied by connecting the camera directly to a computer.
• The firmware update is only necessary for cameras installed with Version 1 of the firmware.

The battery power appears to drain too quickly or does not hold a charge when the camera is off. This issue is known to occur when the camera is turned off while in the playback mode; it does not occur if the camera is turned off in the shooting mode.

If you are experiencing this problem, a firmware update may be required and after the firmware update is installed in the camera, battery life should improve. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
