There is no audio or the amplifier turns off when playing a CD.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended that a qualified professional installer be consulted to ensure proper installation. Sony does not provide installation assistance.

Certain Sony® car stereo receivers were manufactured without having a dedicated circuit to power an amplifier. These car stereo receivers are designed to be used with an amplifier that has a signal-sensing, turn-on feature. When installing these receivers with an amplifier that requires a dedicated turn-on amplifier connection from a receiver, the placement of certain wires need to be changed when connecting to the wiring harness.
Therefore, if there is no sound and/or the amplifier turns off when playing a CD, however the amplifier will stay on and there is sound when playing the radio, then there may be an issue with the installation. This usually occurs when the antenna remote (solid blue) and the amplifier remote (blue-striped) lead wires are incorrectly connected. We would recommend bringing the unit to a professional installer for installation assistance.
WARNING: There is a risk of personal injury. Never install a car stereo system or amplifier without first disconnecting the car battery. Failure to do so is dangerous and puts you at risk for electric shock.
If the installation was performed or inspected by a professional installer and the issue cannot be resolved, service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
