The edges of the image at the wide angle side of the zoom appear to be distorted

When shooting with the zoom lens set at a wide angle or with a wide-angle prime lens, the edges of the image may be distorted, depending on the subject.

Try these tips to improve the image:

    • Using digital or optical zoom, set the focal length to the telephoto side while moving away from the subject if you are using a zoom lens.
    • Compose the picture with the subject in the center when shooting at a wide angle or with a wide-angle prime lens.

Photographing from a position further away from the subject can decrease the distortion around the edges
