How to upgrade Random Access Memory (RAM).

    NOTE: For some VAIO® computers, a system memory upgrade may not be supported if the computer shipped with the maximum amount of memory or the memory slots are not accessible.

    1. Determine the type of system memory that is compatible with your computer.

      NOTE: System memory specifications for VAIO computers are available in the marketing specifications. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    2. Acquire compatible system memory.

      NOTE: For select VAIO computers system memory may be purchased at the Sony® Store.

      Please contact a local or online authorized retailer to purchase a Sony product.

    3. Install the system memory in your computer.
