Error: Cannot play. File format is not supported occurs when trying to play an audio file on the portable player.

    For proper playback, the file must be compatible with the portable player. The supported file formats are listed below:

    IMPORTANT note regarding Digital Rights management (DRM): The portable player only supports WMA digital rights management DRM files when transferred via the Windows Media® Player software. The player does not support any other files that are encoded with DRM. DRM files are typically those that are purchased from online services. The unsupported DRM files may display on the portable player, but will not playback.

    • Copyright protected AAC-LC files cannot be played back.
    • Non-standard bit rates or non-guaranteed bit rates are included depending on the sampling frequency.
    • When you transfer AAC (.mp4) files by drag-and-drop from Windows Explorer to this player, a confirmation message dialog may appear on your computer. If the message appears, click Yes or Yes to All.
