    Unless stated otherwise, the file listed below must be installed BEFORE the Stardust Display Screen in order for it to work properly. If more than one Required file is listed, install them in the order presented on this page.

    This firmware update is required if your Network Walkman™ firmware version is not version 2.00 or higher .

    IMPORTANT: This file is only for use with the models identified. Not all models are sold in all countries.

    Before You Start

    Important Notes

    • This file is only for the NW-E405, NW-E407, NW-E505, or NW-E507 Network Walkman™ Portable IC Audio Player with firmware version 2.00.
    • Please follow these steps to confirm the current firmware version:
      1. While playback is stopped, press and hold the "SEARCH/MENU" button until the menu is displayed.
      2. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "Advanced Menu", then press the Play/Stop Button.
      3. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "Information", then press the Play/Stop Button.
      4. Rotate the Shuttle switch to confirm that the firmware version at "4:" is 2.00.
    • Only one additional Display Screen can be added to the Display Screen options at any given time.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download & Install

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. Download the STARDUST.NWM file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    2. Connect the Network Walkman™ audio player to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
    3. On the computer, open "My Computer", and then open "Removable Disc (E:)".
      NOTE: The drive letter "(E:)" might be different depending your computer configuration.
    4. On the menu bar click "Menu", click "File", click "New", click "Folder", and create a folder "NWWM-SCR" on the Network Walkman audio player.
      NOTE: If the "NWWM-SCR" folder already exists, it is not necessary to make a new folder.
    5. Go to the directory where the STARDUST.NWM file was downloaded and copy the STARDUST.NWM file to the "NWWM-SCR" folder.
      NOTE: Please copy only one Display Screen file to "NWWM-SCR" folder at any given time.
    6. Disconnect the Network Walkman audio player from the computer.

    How to Set the New Display Screen



    1. While playback is stopped, press and hold the "SEARCH/MENU" button until the menu is displayed.
    2. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "Display Screen", then press the Play/Stop Button to select "Stardust" as the display screen option.

    NOTE: If the Network Walkman™ audio player is initialized (formatted), all content including the "NWWM-SCR" folder and the copied Display Screen file will be erased. Please back up all data onto your computer hard drive before initializing (formatting) the unit.
