NW-A300 and NW-ZX700 Series Walkman repeatedly restart

    If you're experiencing frequent restarts by your Walkman® (NW-A300/ZX700 Series), perform a Google Play™ system update.

    Step 1 - Restart in Safe mode

    • If no screen lock is set:
      • Turn on the Walkman, and press and hold the Power button for about 2 seconds when the standby screen appears.
    • If a screen lock is set:
      • Turn on the Walkman, and press and hold the Power buttons for about 2 seconds when the locked screen appears. You don't need to unlock the screen.

    Step 2- Activate Safe mode

    1. Press and hold the Reboot option.
    2. When Reboot to safe mode appears, tap OK. The Walkman will restart in safe mode.

    Step 3 - Confirm Safe mode

    Before starting, check that the Safe mode message appears in the bottom left of the screen. Some apps or widgets might appear translucent in safe mode.

    Step 4 - Connect to Wi-Fi

    1. If you have set the screen lock, unlock the screen.
    2. Connect the Walkman to a Wi-Fi network: SettingsNetwork & internetInternet.

    Step 5 - Update Google Play system

    1. Swipe up the Home screen, and then tap SettingsAbout device.
    2. Tap Android version.
    3. Tap Google Play system update.
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update. Once done, you will see the message Your device is up to date
    5. Restart the Walkman: Press and hold the Power button for about 2 seconds, then tap Reboot.
