How to transfer a voice file from the Sony® IC voice recorder to your Apple® Macintosh® (Mac) computer

    This process describes how to save files from the voice recorder internal memory or an external memory card into a Mac computer.

    1. Connect the Integrated Chip (IC) recorder to the Mac using the supplied USB cable.
    2. On your Mac desktop, make sure that an IC RECORDER or MEMORY CARD drive is displayed.

      NOTE: IC RECORDER shows the messages recorded in the internal memory of the recorder and MEMORY CARD shows the messages recorded in the external card inserted in the recorder . If you do not see the IC RECORDER or MEMORY CARD in your desktop follow these steps.

    If saving files from the IC Recorder internal memory, follow these steps:

    1. Click on IC RECORDER.
    2. On the IC RECORDER window, click on VOICE folder.

      NOTE: The folders on the recorder will show on the screen. The voice messages in each folder can be displayed by clicking on the desired folder.

    3. In the VOICE folder, select a folder or voice file by clicking on it.
    4. Once the folder or voice file is selected (highlighted), click on EDIT at the top finder bar on your screen.
    5. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on COPY “NAME OF THE FILE or FOLDER”
    6. Go to the location in your computer where you want to save the file, i.e., Desktop, Documents, Music, Etc.
    7. At the top finder bar on your screen, click on EDIT.
    8. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on PASTE ITEM.

    If saving files from a Memory Stick Micro, follow these steps:

    1. Click on MEMORY CARD.
    2. In the MEMORY CARD window, click the MSSONY folder.
    3. In the MSSONY folder, click the VOICE folder.

      NOTE: The folders on the recorder will show on the screen. The voice messages in each folder can be displayed by clicking on the desired folder.

    4. In the VOICE folder, select a folder or file by clicking it.
    5. Once the folder or file is selected (highlighted), at the top finder bar on your screen, click on EDIT.
    6. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on COPY (NAME OF THE FILE or FOLDER)
    7. Go to the location in your computer where you want to save the file, i.e., Desktop, Documents, Music, Etc.
    8. At the top finder bar on your screen, click on EDIT.
    9. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on PASTE ITEM.

    If saving files from a Micro SD Card, follow these steps:

    1. Click on MEMORY CARD.
    2. In the MEMORY CARD window, click on PRIVATE folder.
    3. In the PRIVATE folder, click on SONY folder.
    4. In the SONY folder, click on VOICE folder.

      NOTE: The folders on the recorder will show on the screen. The voice messages in each folder can be displayed by clicking on the desired folder.

    5. In the VOICE folder, select a folder or file by clicking on it.
    6. Once the folder or file is selected (Folder or file should be highlighted), at the top finder bar on your screen, click on EDIT.
    7. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on COPY (NAME OF THE FILE or FOLDER).
    8. Go to the location in your computer where you want to save the file, i.e., Desktop, Documents, Music, Etc.
    9. At the top finder bar on your screen, click on EDIT.
    10. On the EDIT drop down menu, click on PASTE ITEM.

    The voice file or folder is now stored in your Mac and you should now be able to see the voice file or folder displayed in the location you selected to save it.
