Is it possible to use a commercially available USB cable with my camera?

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

USB cables are the essential connection method for transferring images or videos, providing power and charging capabilities, and enabling USB streaming (live streaming) for cameras.

Please note that some cameras do not come with a USB cable, so confirm that the commercially available cable you buy matches the type and speed specifications of your camera. Refer to your Help Guide for assistance in selecting the correct cable.

Newer models require a USB Type C® cable, while older models may require a USB Mini or USB Micro cable:

    Notes:

    • Newer cameras support the USB Type C SuperSpeed 5 Gbps (USB 3.2) standard, which enables faster communication and is backward compatible with legacy USB standards.
      • Using the camera's USB streaming function with a SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps cable provides the following video and framerate selections:
        • 4K (2160p) 30p
        • 4K (2160p) 15p
        • HD (1080p) 60p
        • HD (1080p) 30p
      • Check the camera Help Guide for USB streaming details.
