What is Log shooting?

    Before you start

    • Be sure to refer to your camera Help Guide to determine if this feature is available.

Log shooting or logarithmic shooting, is a camera setting that produces flat content footage that retains more detail in shadows and highlights. Since the resulting image often lacks contrast and appears washed out, log shooting images require color grading in post-production to enhance the colors and style.

Log shooting can be divided into three methods: Flexible ISO, Cine EI, and Cine EI Quick. For more information on Log shooting and methods, refer to the Help Guide for Creators.

Note: For the highest flexibility when using Log shooting methods, utilize the Base ISO of the camera.
