How to format the external hard disk drive (HDD) using a Mac computer.

    1. Using the supplied USB cable, connect the external hard disk drive (HDD) to the computer.
    2. On the computer, open Disk Utility.
    3. On the left side of the Disk Utility window, click the external HDD that you connected.
    4. Select the Erase tab.
    5. Under Volume Format, select MS-DOS File System.

      NOTE: The MS-DOS File System on an Apple® Macintosh® computer is also known as FAT32 on a Windows® operating system.

    6. Click the Erase button.
