Why does my new 4K Ultra HD TV need an activation?

    The Premium Service Activation ensures compatibility with the 4K Ultra HD Media Player and safeguards access to its content. In appreciation of the early adopters who wish to enjoy the true 4K Ultra HD experience, Sony will send an authorized technician for in-home service to qualifying 4K TVs. This activation will expand the capability of your TV to ensure compatibility with the 4K Ultra HD Media Player, and applies to a limited number of XBR-55X900A and XBR-65X900A TVs. To determine if your TV qualifies, check the Sony 4K activation web site or call 1-855-476-6945.

    NOTE:The 4K activation service is only available for customers in the United States.
