How to set the parental control for the BRAVIA internet video (BIV) feature.

IMPORTANT: Not all Blu-ray Disc® players, Blu-ray Disc Home Theater systems or Network Media Players have Internet or BRAVIA® Internet Video (BIV) capabilities. To see if your Sony® product has the functions described in this solution, check the specifications. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

NOTES:

• The Parental Control setting discussed in this solution will not apply to the Hulu® app.
• Following the steps in this solution will not prevent the ability to play unrated content. A separate procedure must be followed to limit the access of unrated content using the Internet Video Unrated  setting. Following the steps in this solution will not prevent the ability to play unrated content.

1. Ensure that the Blu-ray Disc player and TV or display device are turned on and set to the correct input.
2. Using the remote supplied with the Blu-ray Disc player, press the HOME button.
3. Use the left arrow or right arrow to select Setup.
4. Use the up arrow or down arrow to select Parental Control Settings.
5. Press ENTER.
6. Select Internet Video Parental Control.
7. Press ENTER.
8. Enter the desired four digit password.
9. Select OK.
10. Press ENTER.
11. Select the desired restriction level and press ENTER.
    • No Restrictions - This is default setting. None of the programs will be blocked.
    • Child - The following ratings will be permitted:
      1. United States TV Rating: TV-Y, TV-G
      2. United States MPAA: G
      3. Canada English TV Rating: C, G
      4. Canada French TV Rating: G
    • Youth - The following maximum ratings will be permitted:
      1. United States TV Rating: TV-PG
      2. United States MPAA: PG
      3. Canada English TV Rating: PG
      4. Canada French TV Rating: 8 ans+
    • Young Adult - The following maximum ratings will be permitted.
      1. United States TV Rating: TV-14
      2. United States MPAA: PG-13
      3. Canada English TV rating: 14+
      4. Canada French TV rating: 13 ans+
    • Custom - Set the desired ratings manually.

NOTE: Initial restriction level is No Restrictions. Always set the four-digit password in advance.
