What is the difference between 1080/24p and 1080/60p output settings?

Both output settings transmit the video signal in 1080p but at different frame rates. The designations of 24 and 60 indicate the frame rate the player is outputting to the television. Even though Blu-ray Disc® movies are encoded at 24 fps to match the frame rate of the original film movies, most televisions display at 60 fps. Because some Blu-ray Disc players have both frame rate settings available, the player is able to convert the movies to 60 fps, ensuring maximum compatibility with current television models.

For further information on the frame rate settings, refer to the instruction manual provided with your player. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
