What is required to view digital television (DTV) programming?
Digital television (DTV) programming is available over-the-air and from cable and satellite service providers. To receive free over-the-air digital broadcasts, your television, set-top box, or VCR must be equipped with a built-in digital tuner. If it does not have a built-in digital tuner, then you will need to connect a digital-to-analog converter box. Otherwise, you can subscribe to a digital cable or satellite service provider.
IMPORTANT: All full-power television stations in the United States stopped broadcasting analog signals at midnight on June 12, 2009 and are only broadcasting digital signals. Visit the FCC Digital Television web site for complete information about this transition.
NOTE: The KD27-FS170, KD32-FS170, and KD36-FS170 television models can only receive digital programming through an antenna or a digital set-top box. They cannot receive digital programming through a direct cable connection.
