How to Restore the Complete System using the VAIO Recovery Wizard.

Follow this procedure to Restore the Complete System using the VAIO Recovery Wizard.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. All software applications, configurations, and data added to the restored drive will be erased.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Licensed content, such as movies acquired from the VAIO® Movie Experience CD supplied with select models, will no longer be playable if the license information is not backed up prior to a system recovery, and restored afterward .

1. Close all open programs.
2. Disconnect all network connections.
3. Disconnect all peripheral devices.
4. From within the VAIO Recovery Wizard application, in the Restore Complete System window, click to select the I understand box.

   NOTES:

   • If you prefer to Go to Restore C: Drive  instead, this option is also offered in the Restore Complete System window.
   • To save the space normally used for the Recovery Drive so that it can be used for other purposes, click to clear the Keep the Recovery Drive box. This option is not recommended.

   WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Once you click the Next button, the recovery process starts and cannot be reversed.

5. Click the Next button.
6. At the VAIO Recovery dialog box, remove Recovery Disc #1.
7. Click the OK button.

   NOTE: The computer will restart.

8. At the VAIO Recovery dialog box, insert Recovery Disc #1 and close the CD/DVD drive.
9. Click the OK button.
10. When instructed, remove each disc and replace it with the next disc from the Recovery Media Kit, then click the OK button.
11. When the last Recovery Disc is used, at the VAIO Recovery dialog box, remove the disc from the drive.
12. Click the OK button.

    NOTE: The computer will restart.

    WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Do not click any buttons or windows until the bundled applications are installed and the Finish button is displayed in the Restore Complete System (Step 5 of 5) window. No other action is required.

13. In the Restore Complete System (Step 5 of 5) window, click the Finish button.
14. After the bundled applications are installed, the computer restarts and the operating system setup wizard will start. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup wizard.
