How to do a search in the Windows 8 operating system.

There are different methods that can be used to access the Search function:

• From the Start screen, just begin typing the name of the file or application. The Search function will open automatically.
• Press the Windows Logo + Q key combination.
• Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Search charm.

NOTE: If you have upgraded to the Windows 8.1 operating system and have downloaded and installed the Windows 8.1 Update, there will also be a Search (Magnifying Glass) icon in the upper right hand corner of the Windows User Interface (UI) Start screen which will also open the Search function.
