How to access and use the on-screen keyboard.

The on-screen keyboard can be accessed in a number of different ways, depending on which screen you are in.

From the new Windows User Interface (UI) screen:

1. Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Settings charm.

   NOTE:  The Windows Logo + I key combination will also take you to the Settings screen.

2. In the Settings screen, in the lower-right corner, click the Keyboard icon, and then click Touch keyboard and Handwriting panel.
3. The on-screen Keyboard will be displayed.

From the traditional Windows Desktop screen, you can follow the same steps as above, or just click the Keyboard icon at the bottom-right of the task bar.

Once you have the on-screen Keyboard displayed, several touch keyboard layouts are available which allows you to choose the input method that works best for the your situation or preferences. Click on the Keyboard icon located at the bottom-right corner of the on-screen Keyboard to see the available layout options.

NOTE: The available touch keyboard layouts are:

• Compact QWERTY keyboard
• Split QWERTY keyboard, with numeric keypad
• Writing pad

You can also change the keyboard to display the number and symbol keys, or to display various emotions.
