An Error Code occurs during a System Recovery.
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
Use the following table to diagnose an error code that occurs during a system recovery.
IMPORTANT:
- Reset the BIOS to the default values and try to perform a system recovery again before determining the computer requires service.
- Verify the disc is clean before setting up service.
- If the recommended action includes running the RAM hardware diagnostics test, and the RAM passes the test, only the HDD requires service. If the RAM does not pass the test, service will be required.
- Due to contractual agreements, we are no longer able to sell the original Recovery Media discs for computers that ship with any operating system released prior to the Windows 7 operating system. If your computer shipped with an operating system released prior to Windows 7, please contact Best Buy for VAIO PC repair and recovery options at 1-800-433-5778. ;
