How to clean a Sony monitor, LCD display or LCD Projection display.
WARNING: There is a risk of hardware damage. Do not scratch or exert pressure on an LCD display panel. Do not use any type of window cleaner, abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvents (such as alcohol or benzene). Do not leave an LCD display panel facing the sun. Doing any of these things could cause an LCD display panel to become damaged or to malfunction.
- CRT Monitor: Clean the cabinet, glass panel and controls with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as alcohol or benzene.
- LCD Display: Clean the screen with a a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any type of glass cleaning liquid that contains an antistatic solution or similar additive as this will scratch the panel surface. Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as alcohol or benzene.
- LCD Projection Data Monitor: Wipe the screen with the supplied duster occasionally as the screen easily catches dust. Stubborn stains on the screen may be cleaned using a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as alcohol or benzene.
NOTE: If there are tiny black or bright points (red, blue, green or white) that cleaning does not seem to be able to remove from an LCD display, it is possible that the display has a defective pixel .
