Numbers are displayed instead of letters or alpha characters when typing on the keyboard.
When typing on the notebook computer keyboard, if numbers are being displayed instead of letters, the numeric keypad feature is activated.
For example, if you try to type My keyboard is not working but it ends up looking like 0y 2eyb6ard 5s n6t w6r25ng, the likely reason is that the numeric keypad feature is activated.
The numeric keypad feature is activated by pressing the NUM LK key on the keyboard. When the NUM LK key is enabled, the NUM LK light will be lit and the following keyboard changes occur to enable the keypad.
Keys | Keys | Keys |
---|---|---|
7=7 | 8=8 | 9=9 |
U=4 | I=5 | O=6 |
J=1 | K=2 | L=3 |
M=0 |
This feature can be turned off by pressing the NUM LK key until the NUM LK light is not lit.
