What is the VAIO® Update application and what does it do?

The VAIO Update application is a utility that provides notification of the latest software, driver, and security updates available. Follow this procedure to configure the VAIO Update application.

1. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to VAIO Update, and click VAIO Update Options.
2. In the VAIO Update Options [FIG. 1] window, scroll down to the end of the readme file.
3. Click to select the Automatically check for updates on the support page box.
4. Click to select Show Icon in the Notification Area in the Task Bar box.
5. Click the OK button.
