How to make the desktop version of the Internet Explorer browser the default.
Follow these steps to make the desktop version of the Internet Explorer browser the default.
- In the new Windows User Interface (UI) Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
- On the Desktop, click the Internet Explorer icon.
- In the Internet Explorer window, on the top right side of the screen, click the Tools icon.
- In the Internet Options window, click the Programs tab.
- On the Programs tab, in the Opening Internet Explorer section, under Choose how you open links, click the down arrow and from the menu, click to select Always in Internet Explorer on the desktop.
NOTE: If you want any web tiles that you have pinned to the Start screen to open in the desktop version of IE, check the Open Internet Explorer tiles on the desktop checkbox.
- In the Internet Options window, click the OK button.
