What is Audio Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD)?
AVCHD is a recording format used by some digital video camcorders for recording high-definition (HD) video. It provides the ability to record personal HD footage directly to a 3-inch (8cm) DVD media, Memory Stick Pro Duo™ media, or hard disk drive in a camcorder. The AVCHD format uses data compression coding technology and is very efficient at maintaining HD video quality.
