What is the difference between the STANDARD and ACTIVE SteadyShot® settings?

When using the STANDARD setting, camera shake is compensated by a lens sliding horizontally and vertically. This setting is recommended when shooting in stable recording conditions.

The ACTIVE setting compensates for camera shake the same way as above, but also compensates by rotation using the BIONZ™ image processing engine. This setting is recommended when it may be difficult to hold the camera still while shooting.

NOTES:

• ACTIVE is the default setting.
• ACTIVE cannot be used with the SMTH SLW REC setting.
• The angle of view in the ACTIVE mode is narrower than in the STANDARD mode because of how the BIONZ processor compensates for camera shake.
• If you have an interchangeable lens camcorder, the ACTIVE mode can be set only when the supplied lens is used.
